A cruise isn’t always just a cruise.

If you want a cruise that’s more than eating and sunning, and you want a cheap cruise, there are some good deals currently on the market. Not only are they a little different than the typical cruise where you spend most of the day poolside followed by some Blackjack at night, they are affordable. Yes, a cheap cruise has everything that a vacationer could want and more.

The Elvis Cruise

If you are an Elvis fan, you need to book yourself on the Elvis Cruise from Nov. 4-8 aboard Carnival’s Fascination Ship. The cruise is being sponsored by Sixthman LLC and Elvis Presley Enterprises. This is the fourth year for the Elvis Cruise during the yearlong celebration of the King’s 75th birthday. The ship will cruise the Caribbean from Jacksonville, Fla., to Nassau, Bahamas. It is being hosted by Jerry Schilling, and the entire cruise has an Elvis-theme. There’s entertainment, parties and people who performed with the King such as the Elvis’ Imperials, Joe Guercio, Members of the TCB Band, DJ Fontana and The Memphis Boys with singer Bobo Moreno. Prices start at $599.

Sailing Southern Ground

Sailing Southern Ground is a floating festival presented by the Zac Brown Band aboard Carnival’s Inspiration. More than 2,000 friends who like family, food, and authentic music, will get together for an exiting, one-of-a-kind cruise Labor Day weekend from Sept. 2-7. The event attracts fans from all over the planet. The ship will leave from Tampa and cruise to Grand Cayman, and return to Tampa on Sept. 6.  While on board, you will sway to the sounds of the Zac Brown Band, and others. Enjoy this Carnival ship that is equipped with everything from a casino to a resort-style swimming pool. Prices starting at $699.

The Rock Boat XI

If you’re into Rock n’ Roll, The Rock Boat XI cruise aboard the Carnival Inspiration is a must. Sailing from Jan. 6-10, 2011 from Tampa, The Rock Boat XI is being referred to as “the greatest musical adventure of all time.” The trip is 4 days of non-stop music, and fun along with a variety of Rock guests including hosts Sister Hazel, Gaelic Storm, Will Hoge, Nada Surf, Needtobreathe and more. Expect lots of themed evenings, contests and special on-board events once this Rock cruise leaves port. In the past, there has been a Mardis Gras Day, Pajamas Night and St. Patty’s Night. Prices from $599.

Just when you thought a cruise was nothing more than buffet eating and playing shuffleboard, along comes these fun packages. Not only do they offer vacationers something different, but they are also cheap cruises that won’t break the bank.
