It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Disney cruise voyages are some of the most sought after on the seas. With the success of the theme parks, movies, TV station, radio, and seemingly everything else that Disney tries everybody wants to experience a Disney cruise. The only problem with this is that as demand is so high Disney can pretty much charge what they want for their cruises and as a result they are usually very expensive. There are however a few little tricks that will help bring down the cost and help you score a cheap cruise with Disney.
Book out of season – Most cruises are more expensive in the summer and over vacation periods, but this is even more so in the case of cruises put on by Disney. In the summer months you will be paying as much as double what you would pay at quieter times of year, and this is the same over Christmas and even Thanksgiving. One other thing to be aware of is that prices are at their highest when school is out in England due to the number of Brits that vacation in the Florida area.
Use a Disney credit card – Disney as a company is a big fan of you the more of their products you use. If you book a Disney cruise with a Disney card they will give you free credits for use on board their ship. This may sound like a minor saving, but every little thing you can do to keep costs down will help the quest for a cheap cruise.
Sign up for emails – One of the easiest ways to find cheap cruise deals is to have them sent directly to your inbox. Disney is one of many companies who will send coupon codes and other deals to people on their targeted email list as opposed to just splashing the deal up on their website. By signing up to their list you can be sure you will get any news of cheap cruises they offer before anyone else does.
Military discount – Disney is one of the few cruise lines that tend not to offer last minute deals. This is the luxury they have when their cruises are so popular they tend to fill up in advance anyway. Instead one of the big discounts that they offer is to military personnel. This discount does not apply to all cruises and you may have to travel on short notice to take advantage, but it is an excellent way for Disney to give back to the troops while potentially saving you quite a bit of money on your trip.
So there are a few ways to cut into the cost of a Disney cruise. Disney are currently touting a promotion with kids sailing free in 2011 so you may be able to combine discounts to book a cheap cruise with Disney at a price that is better than ever before!
